A great article in Christian Science Monitor on what the army knew about Malik Hasan at Fort Hood. Could an anonymous reporting system have helped to get this information from someone at Fort Hood who would have reported information if he/she would be anonymous. Something to think about.

Any suspicious behavior or threats need to be reported to the authorities. TipNow is an excellent way to do this as it is an anonymous sms based reporting system.

A recent survey, reported in BizReport and conducted by myYearbook, found the bloom is off the Twitter bush. Teens and young adults have so many ways to communicate already that Twitter is becoming just another ‘also ran!’ Facebook boasts an outrageous number of followers, but at a recent Aberdeen conference it was revealed that while the member numbers are huge, the actual users are diminishing. According to Geoff Cook, cofounder and CEO of myYearbook, “most teens don’t use Twitter because it doesn’t enable them to do anything they can’t already do elsewhere, which is the same reason most adults don’t use Twitter.” The survey didn’t show encouraging results for Twitter. “83% said no (to using it) and 63% believe it’s a passing fad. The number one reason for not being on Twitter was ‘it’s lame’, followed by ‘my friends don’t use it’ and ‘I don’t understand it’.”

Everyday new thumb saving shortcuts arise. But for the uninitiated they represent a new and expanding language. According to NetLingo, more than 2,000 abbreviations (instances of this new language) have so far been added to the lexicon. Churches need emergency prevention/mitigation tools

Even Churches need security plans. Yesterday there was a shooting at a Church service in Illinois.

Churches should also think about prevention and mitigation of emergencies. A tool like TipNow which is an text/email based anonymous tipline will be useful especially for Churches more than a few hundred members.
